Environmental Conservation and Environmental Surveys

We provide a full range of services, from surveys to analysis and evaluation to the formulation of various plans, for the protection of rare species and ecosystems, and for the conservation and restoration of the natural environment.

Environmental Analysis and Assessment

We conduct numerical and statistical analysis of various changes in the natural environment, such as water flow, water quality, and diffusion of substances in the atmosphere.

Biological Analysis

We analyze mainly aquatic organisms and the habitats necessary to study them. In particular, ballast water analysis is an area in which we are particularly strong.

Civil Engineering Design

We conduct civil engineering design of structures, mainly for coasts, ports, and rivers. We also provide a series of services such as investigation, evaluation, and repair design to extend the service life of structures.

Regional Development

We are working to solve regional issues such as the inheritance of nature and traditional culture and the promotion of industry, mainly in island regions and depopulated areas.

Since the late 1980s, ballast water from ships has been recognized internationally as a major factor in the transfer and ecosystem of alien species. The Ballast Water Management Convention was adopted at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) conference in 2004.

We are the only testing laboratory in Japan accredited to ISO/IEC17025 for all categories of bioanalysis in ballast water and have extensive experience in performance testing and permit application services for ballast water management systems (BWMS).

We also conduct research on the invasion of these alien organisms and provide administrative support for international conferences and committees related to ballast water management.
